Take an amazing mobile virtual reality tour of famous Yosemite Valley using your iPhone or iPad as a magical, moveable window through this spectacular natural wonder. Tilt your iPad up to gaze at majestic El Capitan and then physically turn your body around to view the rainbows in the mist of Bridalveil Fall. Its like youre actually there, standing in Yosemite Valley.
-- My iPad Apps: This is one of the best iPad apps for experiencing Yosemite National Park on your iPad display. We think you’ll be spellbound and as you discover all the sights and sounds in this app.
With proprietary Panopticon™ technology, this innovative app reads the gyroscopes on the iPad/iPhone and updates the view in perfect sync with your movements. Custom soundscapes featuring the native birds of Yosemite Valley complete the immersive experience.
“Magical is the way most people have described it,” says Creative Director Bob Hone of Red Hill Studios. “We’ve created a seamless connection between your movements and your view. You really become part of the scene. You have to feel this app to believe it.”
Be There: Yosemite features ultra-high resolution panoramas taken at different parts of the valley and up the Mist Trail to Vernal Fall. Each pano is the end result of 162 individual 12-megapixel images stitched together (thats a lot of pixels!). Picturesque photos provided by Yosemite Hikes and detailed descriptions deepen your exploration of Yosemite Valley.
Co-designed by Senior Engineer Charlie Brown, the app includes eight interactive panoramic ‘nodes’:
•Tunnel View
•Bridalveil Fall
•El Capitan
•Yosemite Falls
•Stoneman Meadow
•Mist Trail
•Illilouette Gorge
•Vernal Fall
Be There: Yosemite is the second in an evolving series of innovative Be There apps. Be There: San Francisco was released in July 2012.
